National Day Reflections: Standing Under the Dome and Looking Into the UAE Vision

Today on the UAE National Day I found myself standing under the dome of Louvre Abu Dhabi, the same place where I have spent years guiding people through stories of art, history and humanity. But today i felt myself in different mood. As I looked up at the soft rain of light falling through the dome I could almost see the UAE vision unfolding right in front of me. From Saadiyat Island coastline all the way to the upcoming museums rising nearby and everything around me felt like a living symbol of the country’s dream, a dream that connects people, cultures and ideas.

Louvre Abu Dhabi dome has always amazed me but today it felt more meaningful. Its layers of metal crossing and weaving like branches of an ancient tree reminded me how this museum is not just a building but it is a reflection of the UAE belief in connection. The dome gathers light the way the country gathers people softly, naturally and beautifully. It allows each visitor to feel at home no matter where they come from.

As I walked under the dome, three artworks the Fingerprint, the Tree and the Clay force me to paused. I have passed by these pieces countless times but today they felt perfectly tied to the celebration of this country.

The Clay shaped by Human Hands

The fingerprint of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan represents identity, not only individual identity but the identity of humanity as a whole. It shows how every line, every mark, leads to a bigger pattern which is vision of founder of this country. The Tree with its branches stretching in every direction, mirrors the way cultures grow when they are given space, respect and sunlight. And the Clay shaped by human hands, reminds us that civilization itself is crafted through patience, creativity and collaboration.

When I think about these three pieces together I see exactly what the UAE has been doing for decades, bringing nature, art, humanity and architecture into one shared space. Nothing here stands alone not the artworks not the ideas not even the people. Everything grows together layer by layer like the dome itself.

The Tree of Life

Walking under the dome is a reminder that unity, culture and humanity keep growing here and that every new story is welcomed with warmth and hope. This feeling of togetherness is what really makes the UAE special. Being here every day feels like watching a living vision come to life right before your eyes.

And maybe that is why standing under the dome today felt emotional. Because the UAE has created a place where people from every corner of the world can live, work and dream side by side just like branches of one large beautiful tree. A tree that keeps growing, keeps connecting and keeps inviting everyone to be a part of its shade.
